Verdi–Grüne–Vërc ("Greens" in Italian/German/Ladin)
The South Tyrolean
Greens are active since 1978, but only adopted their current name in 1993. The
are not only leftist and environmentalist, but they are especially in favour of
crossing the bridge between the different ethno-linguistic groups of South Tyrol
(much in contrast to the other parties that are catering to either the
German-speaking or the Italian-speaking part). They currently hold 2 seats in
the provincial parliament, as well as 1 seat in the Camera dei Deputati.
Although part of the all-Italian Federazione dei Verdi, they have considerable
autonomy.
The party symbol is green with a white dove and the party name
in white (in all three languages). The flag is a banner-of-arms [1,2,3], but the
shade of green is much different from the one in the symbol.
